Happy Seasonal Holiday Greetings – 3 versions in poem

A slightly revised version… Added Story of Santa to beginning (37 second story) on 12/20)

Three versions of my holiday greetings card. I’m not sure if it’s for Thanksgiving, Pearl Harbor, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Years, or what… I just know there are a lot of things going on between the end of November and January 1st, so I lump t into holiday season. That seems to be correct now days, yet incorrect depending on how you look at it. For me it’s a season I use to really enjoy. It’s a time for family, a time for kids, a time for religion, a time for sales, a time for all.  I’m just glad when its over now days and that is sad.

There are slight differences between the 3 versions. Two of the songs use Creative Commons music from ccMixter. One by jlbrock44 “Winter Walk (Silver_Trumpet_mix), and one by dj blue “Martini Madness”. The R3 version has beat from my keyboard.

Full text for R1. Other versions get short with R5 the most condensed.

Happy Holidays Everyone – Sorry I didn’t send a card
I tried to find a good one – But that was really hard
I would have made my own – And did sort of try
I drew one on my own – Instead of going out to buy
Then I worked on a letter – Of what I did this year
But time got the better – So I just had a beer
I thought of photos one day – And signing with my name
And adding happy holidays – But that seemed lame
Then I heard about the war – On Christmas of all things
So I wondered how to say more – On what the season has to bring
Like Thanksgiving and Egg Nog – Hanukkah and Christmas
New Years and burning logs – And Pearl Harbor alas
So this is what you get instead of
Seasonal cards
Or greeting
Or Happy holiday
Or Merry Christmas
Or Happy Festival of Lights
Or Happy New Year
A poem from me and all
Best wishes galore
See you next fall
If not before
