The Farmory Green Bay

The Farmory is a community based organization for training and development using aquaponics and a perch fish hatchery as tools for this mission. They are also working to help bring back Wisconsin’s perch population. It is declining rapidly and needs help from people like the Farmory. Below are stories from the Farmory.

  • The perch population in Lake Michigan declined rapidly between 1989 and 1995.
  • Yellow perch commercial net catches dropped 90-95%
  • Commercial fishing was stopped in 1995
  • Sports harvest were reduced from 50 to 25 in 1995 and 5 per day in 1996.
  • From 1997 to 2018 The poplation in Lake MI just off Milwauke dropped from several thousand to nearly nothing.
