The Farmory is a community based farm using aquaponics to service the community, educate, produce food and with hopes of becoming a hatchery for other aquaponic farmers. Perch are the goal, but a very difficult mission… so perhaps bluegill could be on the menu?
Also watch Dr. Ken Webb from the UW Green Bay, and consultant to The Farmory in Green Bay talk about efforts to hatch perch at the Farmory. The hop some day to sell fingerlings to aquaponic farmers in Wisconsin. It may be a tough road to ride since perch are a tough on the raise inside and especially hatch. Most systems use Tilapia since they’re much more adapted this aquaponic systems.
